Retro Commissioning

Through the Act On Energy Retro Commissioning Programs, a pre-approved Retro Commissioning Service Provider (RSP) will evaluate your business' existing energy management systems to identify no-cost and low-cost energy efficiency measures that will optimize your systems.

Compressed Air Retro Commissioning

This program is designed to help manufacturing and industrial customers optimize the operation of their compressed air systems. It typically defrays 50 to 80 percent of the discovery phase of tuneup projects that have a simple payback period of up to one year.

No-cost and low-cost energy efficiency measures that qualify for this program may include:

  • Leak loss reduction
  • Adjustment of an existing flow controller or sequencer to match plant operations
  • Correction of inappropriate uses of compressed air such as open blowing

A typical plant in the Ameren Illinois Utilities’ service territory can expect to see energy efficiency savings of more than 15 percent as a result of leak repairs alone!

Retro commissioning surveys will be performed by a pre-approved RSP with proven experience and expertise in the tuneup of compressed air systems. Customers may implement their projects using in-house resources, a contractor of their choice or the RSP.

The retro commissioning survey may also identify capital improvement projects that might qualify for additional incentives through the Act On Energy Custom Program.

Act On Energy will continue to accept Compressed Air Retro Commissioning applications for pre-approval. Based on the size and scope of the survey, we will let you know when your project can begin. Click here for the Retro Commissioning Compressed Air Project Application.

  • Adjustment of lighting and HVAC operating schedules
  • Adjustment of HVAC set points
  • Redeployment of inoperable HVAC dampers and controls

A healthcare facility in the Ameren Illinois Utilities’ service territory can expect to achieve an energy savings of 15 to 30 percent as a result of the retro commissioning process!

Retro commissioning surveys will be performed by a pre-approved Retro Commissioning Service Provider (RSP) with proven experience and expertise in healthcare facility systems. Customers may implement their projects using in-house resources, a contractor of their choice or the RSP.
